What visitors say
Based on recent Google reviewsReviewers describe Porchester Spa as a genuine step back in time: a Grade II-listed Turkish and Russian bathhouse that opened in 1929 and is widely billed as London's oldest. The heat circuit is the draw: a wood-lined dry sauna reaching around 92°C, two steam rooms, and three graded Turkish hot rooms (the warm Tepidarium, hotter Caldarium and fierce Laconium) finished with a plunge pool that visitors repeatedly call bracingly cold. Bathers praise the real, proper heat and the hot-and-cold contrast, set against preserved 1920s Art Deco interiors. It's traditional rather than modern-luxury: bring your own towel, sessions run single-sex most days and mixed on Sundays, adults 18+.
